MC BASIC TECHNIQUE TO FABRICATE POLYMER PRODUCTS

MC BASIC TECHNIQUE TO FABRICATE POLYMER PRODUCTS

Course modified date: 11 Mar 2025

This two-day interactive course will involve participants to delve into the captivating realm of polymers. The course will encompass understanding the differences between the three main types of polymers (thermoset, thermoplastic, and elastomer). Hands-on activities will be done in two sessions of labs. These labs will introduce two basic techniques used for fabricating thermoplastic, thermoset, and elastomer-based-craft products, which are extrusion and casting methods. For thermoplastic, the extrusion technique is used to fabricate craft products using a 3D extrusion pen. Meanwhile, resin and silicon casting technique will be used to fabricate both thermoset and elastomer-based creative products such as resin key chains and silicon moulds for chocolate making.
