Developing Self-Instructional Materials (SIM) for Open Distance Learning (ODL) & Micro-Credential Courses
This workshop aims to empower academicians in developing effective self-instructional materials (SIMs) for Open Distance Learning (ODL) and micro-credential courses, leveraging the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Participants will learn to create engaging digital content, produce rapid lecture videos, and design interactive online activities and assessments.
Day 1:
- Morning: Utilize AI tools to generate course synopses, learning outcomes, objectives, and introductory videos for a course on improving computer productivity and reducing fatigue.
- Afternoon: Employ screen recording techniques and video editing software to produce dynamic lecture videos, incorporating zooming, annotations, and visual aids.
Day 2:
- Morning: Master mobile video production using smartphones and editing software to create practical and lab-based video content.
- Afternoon: Leverage AI to generate suitable online activities and assessments that align with the course's learning objectives.
By the end of the workshop, participants will be equipped with the skills and knowledge to develop high-quality SIMs that enhance student engagement and learning outcomes in ODL and micro-credential settings.
